I cannot understand why any non-activist or genuine public interest activist would be so offended by my earlier comment as to lash out against me specifically in a public forum for not being an activist by profession. Why is it wrong to not be a political activist, and be a teacher instead? Those who teach are doing a great public service.
George Pinto to whom my comment was addressed, and who agreed with it, is already leading by example. He is spearheading a wonderful selfless effort that fosters the progress of, and justice for, all Goans, and not just some selective parochial religious, ideological or sectarian interest group. The name of this effort is Goa Sudharop. Please see: http://www.goasudharop.org/ Those who have supported various causes through this organization have done their own small part in promoting a positive and unifying form of activism, of the type whose dearth I was lamenting in my earlier comment.
