We, being a family of Goan origin intend to settle down in Goa. I would therefore like to make an appeal to the readers of 'goanet' for an old village house on outright purchase or as caretaker for a fixed term. i am attaching a draft of the letter I propose to place on 'goanet'. Kindly permit.

A Goan Catholic, a senior official of the Central Government and his family, genuinely wants to return to their roots and settle down permanently in Goa.

We would like a house to 'come home' to, not as an investment opportunity.

Ideally, we are looking for purchase of a house (as described below) but are open to accepting one on a caretaker basis for a period extending to around 10 years:
- an old house, built with traditional Goan architecture;
- medium sized ( but will also look at slightly smaller or bigger ones);
- on a plot of around five hundred sq. mts. (smaller or bigger will do, but not too large); - anywhere in Goa: preferably in the interior, away from tourist and mining infested areas; close to one of the smaller towns. - clear title, hassle free, in a settlement area (not in agricultural, eco-sensitive or those zones that cannot be converted, because we refuse to bribe or be involved in any form of corruption;.
- preferably, direct sale, without brokers.
- all 'white', cheque payment – no cash component.
