This is with regard to the article by A. Veronica Fernandes titled TRIO KINGS HISTORY
With due respect to the writer I would like to bring to his notice and request him not to write histories based on wrong information or without verifying the facts. Today I just happened to go through this article and found that there are many flaws in it. According to the writer Tommy (Jr. Nelson)filled the vacuum created by the death of Nelson Afonso and Souza Boy joined when Tommy left the trio. The fact is that Souza Boy joined the Trio in 1977 when Nelson was alive but was left out of the trio by Anthony D'Souza and A.S.Conception. Also according to the writer Philip de Orlim joined the trio after the death of A.S. Conception. But the fact is Jr. Nelson (Tommy) joined the trio in the year 1986 after the death of A.S. Conception and Philip de Orlim joined the Trio after Jr.Nelson left. Late Nelson Afonso was a member of the Trio from 1963 to 1977 (14 years) Late A.S. Conception was a member of the Trio from 1963 to 1986 (23 years) Late Souza Boy was a member of the Trio from 1977 to 2002 (25 years) Souza Boy remains the second longest serving member of the TRIO KINGS after Anthony D' Souza. Souza Boy was a Writer, Director, Composer, Actor and a Singer. Despite offers coming from different directors after the death of A.S. Conception, Souza Boy remained firmly with Anthony and kept the flag of trio flying till his death (A fact acknowledged by Anthony D' Souza himself in his CD "TISRO SANGATI" and in his interview to Gulab). Souza Boy used to compose one of the trio during the period of his association with the trio while the other was composed by Anthony. Souza Boy, ‘The Unsung Hero’ served the Konkani stage for 45 years (1957 -2002) I sincerely request writers to confirm the facts before writing any article which may overshadow a person’s dedicated contribution.
