*BICHOLIM:* Mines Department on Thursday raided illegal stone quarries at Latambarcem-Bicholim and seized machines and a truck. According to reports, the incident occurred on Thursday afternoon when the officials of the Mines Department from Panjim swooped over stone quarries at Latambarcem. There were about six machines in the mine and several people were working. The officials seized all the six machines involved in the stone cutting and a tempo in which the stones were being loaded. As the news of the raid spread across Bicholim, several other quarries stopped its activities.
