I wonder if the people who only want a "boy" child ever think who that boy will get married to, to carry on the "genes"? It appears that there is a serious imbalance here. Should this form of thinking continue and consequent infanticide of females, there will come a time when polyandry will be the order of the day ... or like the Smurfs, there will be just the one female remaining in the village :-0
