-- Samir Umarye BICHOLIM: A 23 year old scooter rider from Valpoi Sattari was today crushed to death at Bicholim.
According to the available information one Arif Majid Aga (23) from Valpoi Sattari was coming from Mayem to Bicholim on his scooter (GA-04-D-1732). On reaching near Hira Talkies - Bicholim Arif tried to overtake a loaded pickup (GA-01-U-0984). As he was about to overtake his scooter slipped on the road and he fell on the ground and got crushed under the front wheel of the pickup. The police and the ambulance rushed to the spot but he died on the spot. The driver of the pickup, Deelip Gopal Parab (37) from Ladfe Bicholim was later arrested for rash and negligent driving.
