and the 'Best Destination for Relaxation in India' at 'Lonely Planet Travel
Award ceremony' in Mumbai recently.
Lonely Planet magazine is recognized as the traveler's best friend the world
over and for the first time announced the Lonely Planet Magazine India Travel
Awards to celebrate those who provide the best travel experiences in the
country.
After receiving the award, tourism director Swapnil Naik said, "Goa is making
continuous efforts to encourage a steady tourist inflow and keeping our guests
happy through unforgettable experiences. We are really honoured that Goa has
been voted as the best destination for relaxation as well as the best value
destination in the country."
The last few months has seen Goa bring home a series of awards like the 'Best
State for Beach Tourism' at the Safari India National Tourism Awards, the 'Best
Tourism Promotion Awards' by the International Tourism Conclave and Travel
Awards to name a few.
