-- Samir Umarye BICHOLIM: The Chief Minister, on Sunday evening visited Bicholim police station to inspect the premises.
Mr Parrikar was accompanied by BMC deputy chairperson, Mr Narayan Betkikar, Dr Shekhar Salkar, Mr Manohar Shirodkar, Mr Vallabh Salkar and others. After inspecting the police station premises he stressed the need for the construction of a new building. “The new building for the police station will be well equipped with all basic amenities,” he said. He also discussed with the local people about the way in which the new building could be constructed without affecting the existing mamlatdars and deputy collector‘s office, fire station office and telephone office. The Chief Minister also visited primary school at Bordem, Bicholim and also stressed the need to upgrade the school building. “The visit to find out the state of affairs of all the police stations from Bicholim taluka has been planned in the month of June” said Mr Parrikar. He also visited a proposed site for a sports complex at Lakherem Bordem. He also visited Bicholim industrial estate area. Other issues like setting up of traffic cell, market project inauguration and others were also discussed on the occasion.(NT)
