Our Relationship with the Weather
We all have been complaining a lot with regard to present summer weather conditions in Goa saying that there has been a temperature rise every year.Definitely the weather has changed, no doubt about the same but can we blame the weather for that? Our hills are been razed into flat surfaces, fields are been converted in concrete structures at a very rapid pace and all ugly activities in full swing badly affecting the environment. During the tenure of last government, my village of Cuncolim suffered a lot due to agriculture land conversions to make way of useless concrete structures, one of those is the so called Auditorium which as per the present government is not satisfying a the criteria of Auditorium. What a huge misuse of agricultural land? Presently my house is still surrounded by fields though not cultivated as a result of which the place still remains cool in summer. If this so called development which in realty is destruction continues then our future is disastrous. We cannot blame the weather; it is we who disturbed the weather.
