Goa Sudharop would like to thank Captain Sullenberger for kindly taking the time out of his busy schedule to “meet and greet” our group on June 7.
Described by one person in the group as “very warm and personable” and by another as “really gracious”, his incredible feat of landing a plane on the Hudson river was not lost on at least two young people in the group. One 10 year-old remarked in astonishment “he actually landed a plane on the Hudson River - wow!” and a 15 year-old said it was “so exciting, he even signed my flight log”. Adults too were thrilled to be there and have Captain Sullenberger sign a copy of his recently published book. One adult noted that “it was worth taking the time to meet him [Sullenberger] instead of those overpaid ball players who charge too much for autographs”. Thanks to all who came and made the time for their kids sake (or their own) during rush hour traffic and in the middle of a work-week. Like the Misrepresentaion movie event in April this year, Goa Sudharop is pleased to provide opportunities for young people (and other ages) to be inspired by real heroes like Captain Sullenberger.
