*Passing away of JOAO INACIO D'SOUZA, Konkani writer*
Veteran Konkani writer/novelist Joao Inacio D'Souza (born 8-12-1912) expired at his ancestral house at Gaunsavaddo in Mapusa, Goa, on June 11, 2012. Joao Inacio, a man with a fine sense of humour which reflected in his written work, was quite popular in the Konkani circle for several years on the trot. He wrote plays and Konkani novels and contributed regularly to Konkani publications, particularly, monthly "Gulab". Of course, many people know him by virtue of his delicious "Spicy Goa Sausages". He had a sweet too and loved ice-cream despite being afflicted with diabetes.
