The language problems faced by Goans today is largely due to the invasion of
Goa in 1961. On Dec 1961 Goa became mainly politically sectarian. These
divisions continue even until this day. I wonder if Goans will sit down and
iron out their differences! Also the current ruler from Delhi did their best to
oust the Portuguese language with all sorts of excuses. They enforced their own
colonial language called Hindi upon our children to add to the confusion. The
biggest tradegy faced by our youth is watching their lewd films from Bollywood.
These films have no stories rather than poor morals coming from the north.

Language issue:
I have difficulties to understand the discussion and exchanges concerning
the languages to be taught in the schools in Goa. Some speak about the
importance of the universal pedagogical principle of educating children in
their native language. I think there should be an amendment to their way of
seeing things. I think that concept could be applied hundreds of years ago
when people did not move out of their little villages. I think, in a modern
world that we are living in, it would be a tragedy for the children in Goa
and elsewhere in India, if that concept is still applied.
