Subject: Comments on your Editorial " SILENCE IS GOLDEN, INDEED!" [June 20, 2012] for kind favour of publication

HERALD - Wednesday - 20 June, 2012
OPINION - Silence is Golden, indeed!

COMMENTS:

I had to do a double take on the above as I found it to be infinitely thought provoking write-up. And therefore my following comments.

Let me start with this part in the middle of the write-up, as I feel that this is a good start to continue.

We won't be surprised if some of the "progressive" readers dismiss this as ridiculous in today's standards when "outdated" suggestions are often dismissed, especially when they're given free. Herald being popular amongst a wide segment of readers. We deemed it fit to delve and reflect on Archbishop's message.

Since I consider myself to be one of that 'PROGRESSIVE" readers, I certainly want to comment on the Archbishop's message of Silence.

I find it hard to believe that the Archbishop has changed his mind. He is the one who continued entertaining those he now calls the 'destructors' of GOA, the policy makers, whereby the naughty builders such as the one's who are developing the Church properties like the Souto Maior Estate, the Vanxim Island; the industrial polluters from Switzerland, the SYNGENTA who have been sheltered on the Church property at old Goa, polluting away Goa's healthy environmental core through the manufacture and export of deadly-poisonous 'pesticides', 'weedcides' wormicides and what not and who have been literally black-listed and thrown out from countries like Switzerland itself, USA, Mexico, etc. It is heartening that the Archibishop has now realized that 'SILENCE' is the best option in order to frustrate those who are asking pertinent questions and making valid noises.

On the said " Culture of silence and prayers in a world of noise", it justifies, as the noise created by questions raised as to why the Church had adopted and shielded the CORRUPT Congress for such a long time until it became such an unbearable stink that the Church had to abandon it and embrace the Communal BJP. In time the BJP too will become the unbearable stink, what with the HINDU RASHTRA ideology emanating from Ramnathi, Ponda, and the impending entry of Shri. Ram Sena into Goa?. I guess that the Church has cultivated enough of it's priest into expert politicians and policy makers who can run both the Church as well as Goa's Civil Administration through contesting the 2017 Elections as a political party preferably named as "GOEMCHE NIZ MOGUI" , for the simple reason that there is no one else on the Goa's political horizon who can function in Goa besides the above two national monsters.

On the point that has been raised regarding the 'MADHYA PRADESH SOUND POLLUTION ACT' imported into Goa to curb the noise at night, sad to say that this impotent piece of useless legislation was brought into Goa only because our Goa's MLAs and Montris could not find time, down the years, to come up with a suitable legislation to cater to this evil, so much so, it took more than 25 years for the Civil Society of Goa to make enough noise against noise to throw out the above mentioned useless piece of legislation by seeking the intervention of the Bombay High Court. Even to date our MLAs and Montris have not found time to banish this menace through an effective legislation.

On the point that the priest are engaged in professional activities and social propaganda rather than using their expertise as according to their priestly VOCATION following in the footsteps of CHRIST, sad to say that CHRIST has been steadily demoted down the years from HIS status as an all time REVOLUTIONARY so that they may just go about 'hocking His name' and walk everywhere else but in his foot steps.

Last but not the least, if the Church in Goa had really followed in the foot -steps of Christ whose name it is 'hocking' day-in and day-out in vain, Goa would have been the pearl that it once was. Let the Archbishop grow more tongues so that he starts making more noise rather than lapse into silence, so that the 'revolutionary' work of Christ is carried out and peace and justice reigns in GOA once again after 50 years of the 'so-called 'LIBERATION' of Goa.
