COMMENT: Whatever the merits (or otherwise) of the above suggestion or the original one made by Silviano, I put forth the following thoughts for what they are worth: 1: Is "FORCE" what Konkani Mogis are about? 2: Have we visited the Airport (i.e. Dabolim) at which these flights land? Is Konkani spoken or heard as a matter of routine? What about the restaurants? Anything Goan about them, their menus or Konkani about the music played (loudly) therein? 3: Is this what "libertação" was/is all about? 4: To Valley Faleiro, I'd venture to say this .... and I can only speak for myself: I have not forgotten the Konkani I spoke to my mother (and the one she spoke to me), BUT I might be lost when any announcement is made in this thing they have FORCED upon Goans. And yet, I am quite happy communicating in Konkani with folks from my village in Salcete or folks from my "village in law" in Bardez. 5: Now, which genius dreamed up this idea of ENFORCING this strange Konkani aka S-Konkani upon Goans? As far as I am concerned, it sounds like a horrible nasal dialect of Ghataverli Marathi. BTW: Marathi is a beautiful language which I enjoy immensely (It is the Urdu of the West Coast and found in Poona/Pune). THE Marathi and THE Urdu (Not the hijacked ones) are like good wine. The Hijacked ones are, by comparison, "Navsagar". YUCK ! And there are some among us who want to FORCE Yuck upon us? Hear me ....
