It saddens me to read each year, about these deaths during this feast... http://www.navhindtimes.in/goa-news/two-sao-joao-revellers-drown Wonder if there are any means of preventing such drownings...Many of the participants are too drunk, to comprehend the dangers of jumping into these wells, which are at very high levels at this time of the year...It might be a tall task for the likes of the Police and Fire Brigade to cover, but presence of lifeguards at such events, could be considered...I don't know if each Goan village organizes this event, but a collective effort at the village level with all necessary precautions, might help...
