So sad to see one so hell bent on controvesy! In response to Rose's email on adoption. I for one, know so many asian couples, many goans both in Canada and in the UK who have adopted mixed race kids. Initially they tend to go for those who would resemble the asian outlook to a degree, i.e haitian, south american, cuban and even from the asian sub continent...if this fails then they want to extend their love for children to any child that is being offered to them so that they can extend their love, affection etc as both parties are unfortunate...one in not having kids, and the other not having parents.. How can you not encourage this, especially that in today's world there are so many unfortunate kids, instead of trying to argue the point and attaching a stigma! Not everyone wants to advertise this fact Rose, and I trust you are mature enough to recognise this. Todays statistics show that more that 60% of couples have problems in procreating...and have infertility problems. Statistics also show many many children waiting to be adopted... so you should be encouraging this rather than maligning it!

1. During my 40 YEARS living in the United Kingdom - You obviously do not know the entire fact of those in the UK adopting from all over the world. 2. I do not believe the situation in Canada within our Canadian-Goan community to be vastly different from that in the United Kingdom.
6. Unless you can provide facts to prove otherwise.

- As Selma rightly says, you do not have the full facts!
5. MY CONCLUSION: Adoption by couples within our Goan community both in the United Kingdom and Canada is minuscule. - considering your knowledge and awareness of the Goan adoption is miniscule, I am not surprised! How the heck do you know how people adopt and where they register this??? 6. Unless you can provide facts to prove otherwise. - I don't think anyone who is sane wants to waste time proving anything to you. 7. Hope you will agree that when writing on our social networking sites, misinformation should be kept to a minimum, preferably none at all - why don't you try to adopt that mantra eh?
