It is shocking to read this type of accusations against the Police. Police officers should be allowed to perform their duties without interference from any exterior or interior powers .They are supposed to render impartial services to the public and no politician should have the upper hand in this matter. The mechanisms for reporting misconduct against Police officers must be strengthened. These oversight functions must be independent of everyone including the Chief Minister or any other minister for that matter. This is the only way of ensuring that there is fairness in the conduct of Officers of the law in performance of their duty. The Chief Minister, Manohar Parikar must look into this affair immediately since it is of the utmost importance for public safety and the public's perception that they do not have to fear the Police rather they should consider the police one of the resources which protects their constitutional rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
