What a far cry from the Goa of today, where the pristine beaches have been
overrun with shacks filled with Ghanti's selling whatever wears they can in
order to make their living to the detriment of Goa and its unique culture. Oh
how we long for the good old days when life was so carefree and the simple
susigade people of Goa lived a unique and satisfying life. Those were the days
and we can only look with nostalgia at the happy times spent basking under the
shade of coconut trees under those conditions. True there was no electricity
nor was there television nor any of the so called conveniences of modern life,
but people were happier care free and satisfied with what little they had.
Crime was at a minimum and of course there was always the out of tune melody of
the village drunk. This has been replaced by a chorus of village drunks singing
an uncoordinated tune jarring to the ears and lacking in any cohesive
recognizable tune. What a far cry from the good old days.Oh how we long for
those susigade days of old.
