I agree with JCs concerns and articulation. Some points of mine dovetail with his thoughts as suggested below in conjunction with a my comments on a link shared by self, a few hours ago on my FB page. The link (from Halabol** Petitions has to do with a dastardly vitriolage (ACID ASSAULT/ HURLING ACID) attack committed on Shonali Mukherjee. In this case the attack was beyond calculated. It was carried out when she was asleep. Do consider signing the petition. **Halabol would approximate Uthoi Awaz/Raise a Clamor/Din in Konkani

A precise look at how language is employed in sites of irresponsibility, and to adumbrate (to produce faint images, foreshadow, make indistinct). Although this is a critical analysis, do understand that the Sadean parts are not for the faint-hearted. (**Marquis de Sade, Charles Fourier, Ignatius Loyola) My two comments from FB are shared below. The second one is response to another comment. APOLOGIES for the extrapolations: Comment 1: All Indian political parties should get on board to not tolerate such dastardly behavior. Your salvation rests on your ability to at least give assure basic rights, particularly when as a nation we make so much noise about respect towards women. Live the walk. We aS a nation have so much potential and it does show, but we are letting our feudal malicious ways get the better of us. At least spread the word among your communities, friends, sons, and daughters, household help, servants, drivers—that such behavior is unconscionable, and that you are above it. That is the least we can do: interject order in our immediate surroundings. Comment 2: Law certainly is not the only answer as the latter part of my comment suggests/alludes to. But good laws and ENFORCEMENT gives people strength and bring them under one umbrella. Such is the case in almost every issue which is about engagement, yet genuine education (most mistake it as only being what is taught in schools) by way of how we live and partake in community should be seriously looked at at an individual--one on one level. Doordarshan for instance had potential, but failed miserably even when it came to say teaching about not spitting. At the point we were that would have been a great help in pointing people towards what is expected with the nature of change as it approached the nation. Of course there are as many stages, as there are classes, societies (India is many societies, although for some its may appear as one). The point is that, even those who are educated barely have a comprehension of what it means to be modern (even this point can easily be misunderstood, and why would that be so). Its truly about the nature of interactions. If we who are, needless to say pretty hip on certain ideas and notions—can misunderstand perspectives of those around us, to mean those of us living in the US (in groups, the inability to celebrate events in individual lives); and barely have interest in interaction other than the less that perfunctory (if at all) jiving; no genuine sharing other than crass expectation for the most part—then I feel that there can never be the hope where one is assured that ones back is being covering / that one is safe. ++++++++++++ venantius j pinto ++++++++++++ venantius j pinto Message: 3 Date: Sun, 15 Jul 2012 16:34:07 -0400 From: "J.
