Comment: 1: Roland's comment (supra) may be accurate or inaccurate. Wonder HOW he reached that conclusion. 2: Self-esteem is what the Self estimates about self. Would Roland please advise us HOW he deciphered what the Goan women estimated about themselves? 3: Was he a scientific observer, a casual (i.e. anecdotal) observer or an observer of their interactions with him (i.e. biased observer)? 4: Was the 'reaction' he observed, a reaction to their (Goa women's) concern about family, personal relationships, financial issues, Canadian weather or just Roland? 5: It is said that Beauty lies in the perception of the Beholder. Where lies this observation i.e. the alleged Low self-esteem of Goan women in Canada? 6: It is possible that there is a self-imposed deadline to write articles. 7: Is it possible that some among us have a 'normally deviant' streak of negativism and chauvinism built within our psyche? 8: On a personal note, I have never met a single Goan woman who, to ME, displayed the characteristics of low self esteem. But then, I am not a psychologist or any other form of expert on the 'self-esteems' of others to be in a position to comment one way or another. 9: I'd proffer this personal thought: Life can be tough, especially for women. It is, therefore, possible that women do not realise that Men are the next best thing to sliced bread. etc etc. 10: I have no "anonymous" individuals to quote. So, I quote myself. (Vide infra.) "Jusht only My view". jc
