Folks, The Roland Francis article was published in the Goan Voice UK. Now what did Roland write?
He started with: "I have a healthy respect for Goan women. By and large they have taken initiative in whatever area they function and have admirably succeeded in their focus activities." He then goes on to say: "Therefore it is with great disappointment that I observe more than just a small number of Goan women in Toronto who for want of any better explanation can be said to have a low self esteem" Can we agree that more than just a small number = a significant minority? But there are those who have hidden agendas and are out to lift what he wrote out of context and claim that he is referring to all Canadian Goan women! Are these critics able to put their hands on their hearts and say that the type of person he describes, does not exist?
