VINDU DARA SINGH “I visit Goa very often with my family, because Goa is wonderful and peaceful” – said Vindu Dara Singh, son of the famous Indian wrestler and actor, as reported in ‘Herald’ today. Vindu has been just a visitor, as opposed to thousands who come here on a one-way ticket and stay put. They too pour praises on Goa and that makes music to our ears, but sadly they also rob us of our peace. It took 450 years for us, Goans to be what we are. Now it takes a rape one day, burglary another and murder the next, to give us the image of criminals and to get the hell out of here. Maybe Vindu will have to keep changing his tune every time he repeats his visits to Goa. Or, maybe he will soon be asking to himself: “where have all the Goans gone?” Bennet Paes
