CM of Goa, Manohar Parrikar opens Thomas Cook office in Margao
Goa Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Parrikar opened the new office of Thomas Cook (India) Ltd. in Margao, today, 20th August 2012, in the presence of Mr. J.P. Singh, Head Sales - Leisure Travel (Outbound), Thomas Cook (India) Ltd, Mr. Leo D'Mello, Marketing Director of Royal Resorts and Mr Bruno Gomindes, MD of Travco Holidays Pvt Ltd. - the Gold Circle Partner of Thomas Cook (I) Ltd., among other dignitaries. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Parrikar asked Bruno to consider that the client is more than a God and if you treat him well, your business will flourish. He commented on how he personally used to travel and whenever he had a good experience he would refer others. He asked the audience to emulate successful city-states like Singapore where cleanliness is a tradition and hospitality a way of life. He kept the audience in splits with his personal experiences and anecdotes. Commenting on the opening of the the Gold Circle Partner outlet, Mr. J.P. Singh, Head Sales, Thomas Cook, said, "Margao is uniquely positioned as a vital cultural and business centre of Goa State -- a strong emerging market for us. Our Thomas Cook franchisee outlet at Osia Mall, an up-market commercial hub is ideally located to tap the diversity of holiday customers as also Goa's business community and professionals. With our new outlet, we hope to bring the best of holiday options right to our customer's doorstep." Mr. Leo D'Mello, Marketing Director of Royal Resorts, spoke about the Global trends in Tourism today. He pointed out how affluence, better standard of living, travel networks and a global mindset has contributed to Indians travelling further afield. He requested the CM of Goa to provide infrastructure, convenience and security to the tourist and also to create awareness about the varied attractions of Goa and promote it in international forums. Earlier, Rev Fr Allan Noronha, blessed the premises and the staff.
