Nobody is FORCED to contribute. If you do not wish to contribute, please stay away from the collection basket. There are many Catholic charities that cater to those in need. Please do apply to these charities for help if you need it. COMMENT: After reading the initial posts on this topic, I would like to state that I agree with the above from Prof de Sa. I will add the following, (some) perhaps ad nauseam: 1: Goan Catholics may wish to work hard towards bettering themselves and working very hard at their goals. All this Bollywood-style partying et al ...... is a total waste of our selves, our time and our resources. 2: Those who write about "hospitals" .... are probably unaware of the costs and responsibility for running them. 3: As the cost of living has risen exponentially, younger Goans are doing the right thing by working at home/abroad and sending funds to support their parents. After all, these senior citizens (our parents) are the reason why we got where we got to. 4: http://www.colaco.net/1/EmaHomesAged1.htm ; http://www.colaco.net/1/EmaHomesAged2.htm (1999) jc
