Another brilliant piece by the indefatigable Mrs Selma Carvalho. Quote Embedded in this attitude is the belief that employment is not a right, but rather a privilege and the employer should be rewarded with years of service and unwavering loyalty. By this yardstick, the recent Portuguese-Goan immigrant into the UK is seen as a dissenting character, bent on bringing "shame" to the previously settled generation of Goans Unquote. Whose opinion about bringing shame on the previously settled generation of Goans?, seen by whom; the writer's or the previous Goans - East African Goans who were interviewed by Mrs Carvalho for her British East African oral Histories project? Please come out and say it loud instead of engaging in Politics and attempting to create a divide between the E.A. Goans and the Swindon Portuguese Passport holders. Mrs Carvalho is hell bent on creating ructions, she will then sit back and smile...this same woman who wrote so demeaningly about the Swindon Goans on more than on occasion. No doubt she expects to be welcomed into the homes of the East African Goans, who will give her more fodder for her unrivalled brilliant pieces!
