Press note Issued by

Dr. Prita D. Mallya

Vice-Principal, Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics

Dear Friends

Disposal of e-waste has become a major environmental issue. The Govt. of India has recently come out with guidelines for the proper disposal of such waste from May of this year. It includes Compliance from Educational institutions.

*Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics is launching an e-waste collection drive from Tuesday September 25th to Friday 28th, 2012. *

If you have any electronic or electrical product (/other than batteries / Tubelights, CFL / Ink cartridges and Toners which we are NOT collecting/) that is to be disposed of, please feel free to drop it off at the College on any of the above days at any time between 8 am & 12 noon. We have an arrangement with Goas first and only recognised e-waste collection center from Saligao - "*Group Tenplus"*, who will collect the waste and send it for recycling.

Please do participate in the drive. Anyone who would like to dispose of their e-waste can meet Dr. Prita D. Mallya (Vice-Principal) or Mr. Sunil Naik (BCA Coordinator) or Dr. Manasvi Kamat (NSS Coordinator)

For more information, about the recycling process, or to get a list of items that come under E-waste, please visit http://www.grouptenplus.com or facebook.com/ewastegoa <http://www.facebook.com/ewastegoa>

Thanking you in advance
