Fed up with politicians' worthless promises? Residents of the Russian city of Yekaterinburg were – so they did something about it.

Across the world, from Uganda to Costa Rica to Russia, potholes have become a metaphor for corrupt or ineffective government. Some have even been named after the politicians who have failed to fix them. But in Yekaterinburg, street artists took this notion one step further: they turned potholes into caricatures of local officials.
