I know how difficult it is to get your passport in Goa. The staff is not that
co operative and everyone cannot leave their work and stand before the passport
office. So it would be nice if Government of India appoints agents to do all
this by charging a fee levied by the Government. Say a sum of five hundred
rupees per passport. These agents should be given a counter to attend to their
cases. Actually the police should visit the house of the applicant to verify
his or her address. Even that should be got rid of. Most of our departments
have gone digital. Whenever there is a criminal case against anyone and he or
she has been convicted by court this should be find in the records at the
passport office and since everyone is giving their election and ration cards as
identy proof this need not be again checked by the police department and hence
a new passport could be given within 15 days.
