Dr Kui was a paclo vet, I understand, and his favourite exclamation to no-one in particular, when walking around the Panjim garden in the balmy evenings, as I remember it, was "Eh sonsarant sogleank kui", curling the right index finger in the air. Hence the name. He was in Goa until, perhaps, '66. Sometimes he was followed by another person who was not altogether there, who used to exclaim "Salazar ietlo', Salazar paulo'" ...
