Dear Aires,

I am willing to campaign with you to have these things that you are preaching be included in the sylabus of the Primary Schools in Goa. And let Manohar Parrikar start attending the Primary School once again as he has not learnt anything like this in IIT.

Cheers

Subject: [Goanet] CALL OFF IFFI 2012

After a string of flawed decisions the Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Parrikar
could make one sensible move and cancel IFFI 2012. In the given precarious
scenario that Goa finds itself in, by no stretch of imagination could the
government be squandering another 8.5 crores on yet another IFFI.

Ever since this IFFI tamasha commenced in 2004 the tax payers have shelled
almost 100 crores for this annual event which has infact not met its
objective of shaping Goa into a world class international film destination.
For the last eight years IFFI has been a State sponsored entertainment for
some and a money making channel for others. The organizers, the
Entertainment Society of Goa has infact evolved as the Entertainment Scam
of Goa.

Besides canceling IFFI 2012 the Goa Government would have to take some
rigorous austerity measures to get its financial house in order. There has
to be a total ban on all foreign trips by Ministers and officers.
Travelling within the country should also be only when necessary. Wining
and dining at the cost of the tax payer should be a thing of the past. The
ever escalating size of the bureaucracy needs to be trimmed so also the
Corporations unnecessarily set up need to be wound up. There has to be
financial accountability in every paisa spent from the State exchequer.
