Only a 20-25 km buffer zone is acceptable which will protect the air for the general population and prevent further contamination of the water tables. However, the correct policy is to end mining permanently in Goa for health reasons and to stop the destruction of the environment and the ongoing uncontrolled deforestation in Goa.
