Gabe Menezes,
One death has already been reported in Toronto due to Frankenstorm Sandy. A
woman was walking home when a sign blew off and fell on her head, last evening.
This probably could not be avoided.

As I watch Tv, I find it amazing that people do not heed the warnings from the
authorities and actually go out to see what the storm is tossing around. I find
this to be stupidity in its purest form as these people not
only endanger themselves, but also expose the fire/rescue people to danger too.

As you may know, the US stock markets have been closed for the past two days
as, for some unknown reason, the US insists on maintaining "open cry" in its
stock markets. Markets like Toronto, that only have electronic trading can and
do remain open at all times. Interestingly, this gives those of us who can
trade on the TSE a distinct advantage as one can still short US insurance
stocks or the US index's today.

For those interested, here is a photo essay, with captions, on how the storm is
effecting me.
