It was great to meet my old friend, Floriano Lobo at the funeral of Dora D'Souza.
Dora lived a full life, a fighter to the end. Her qualities have passed - both of mind and heart to her daughter (and my colleague) Cheryl D'Souza. Cheryl - the baton has now been passed to you. Keep her memory alive by fighting the good fight. We are always with you but more importantly your mother is gone to a better place and she will always be with you and Aki, inspiring and praying for you. May God grant eternal rest to Dora's soul and condolences to her family. Leo D'Mello You have one life, Live it to the full. ******************** Message: 1 Date: Mon, 26 Nov 2012 19:14:37 +0530 From: "floriano" <[email protected]> To: "Goa's premiere mailing list, estb. 1994!" <[email protected]> Subject: [Goanet] Sad passing away of a thoroughbred GOAN FIGHTER. Message-ID: <495CDA8F58E742F4AB55B91561C03211@home> Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed; charset="iso-8859-1"; reply-type=original DORA D'SOUZA, dear lion-heart mother of Cheryl and Hartman D'Souza of Nagoa/Caurem has passed away today leaving this mining dust-filled world to enter into pristine cleanliness and peace of the heavenly adobe. Dora will be laid to rest at the Holy Trinity Church, Nagoa-Bardez, 27th. November (tomorrow) at 3.00 p.m. May the good Lord receive this fighter with open arms to enjoy the eternal peace forever. It must be remembered that Dora, along with her grand-daughter AKI and her Lioness daughter Cheryl D'Souza Sanfrancisco, had tied herself in chains to the chair on the dust-filled mining road at Caurem to stop the mining trucks ravaging the place day and night without respite. She was hauled up by the heartless Goa Police/politicians along with the other two to the AGUADA JAIL. Yours sincerely had the opportunity to meet this Lioness DORA at her daughter's farm at Caurem on several occasions. Her hospitality was expansive. When she had a mild heart attack, yours sincerely along with close friends visited her at NUSI Hospital. It will be my pleasure to place a handful of 'mud' over her coffin, but it will be with a sorrowful heart. Goa needs ferocious Lionesses like DORA and Cheryl and AKI to keep her in good stead. ADIOS DORA HASTA LA VISTA. Floriano Lobo Gen. Secretary Goa Su-Raj Party [GRSP] /Goemchea Rakhondarancho Awaz [GRA] / Goa Environmental Action Group[GEAG].
