Born and raised in NJ, LC Wells left college to follow his dreams of becoming a
songwriter and musician. Influenced by both the rock and jazz greats, Wells’
originals offer screaming rock solos as well as blazing sheets of sound that
combine the two genres.

Today, Wells teaches guitar and piano and records in his home studio. His focus
is on songwriting and producing music for licensing. Along with producing his
new Christmas tune, I Wish It Would Snow and his debut CD "Off The Cuff", Wells
also created a 30-page study guide and play-a-long CD for the Off The Cuff
collection. “I Wish It Would Snow” was performed by jazz legends, Gloria Lynne
and featuring Bucky Pizzarelli, Jerry Bruno, Jim West and Jay Dittamo.

“I Wish It Would Snow” is the perfect backdrop for a nostalgic Christmas filled
with memories and the fullness of the holiday spirit.  Gloria Lynne brings her
signature vocals to the composition with the musical conversation between some
of the best musicians of our time” says Jaijai Jackson, creator of The Jazz
Network Worldwide.

"What does anyone hope for when his or her music is about to be heard? Well,
writing is such a solitary and personal act, and yet, why do it unless you
share it?

Growing up in the 50-60’s there was a soundtrack that accompanied my days.
Whether it was listening to William B. Williams on WNEWam playing Sinatra,
Bennett, Ella Fitzgerald, or Jonathan Schwartz on WNEWfm introducing Hendrix,
Zappa or Aretha, the stuff was cool. The radio was on whether I was eating
breakfast or in the car and I was listening. But even beyond the radio, my Dad
loved jazz, and so it began.

My influences were varied and so are the styles represented here. Whether it’s
the soulful beauty of Miss Gloria Lynne’s rendition of I Wish It Would Snow,
the blazing Coltrane-like "Paralysis Through Analysis', the melodic and
foreboding 'Storm Warning', or the haunting ballad 'Woman In the Snow', it’s my
hope that in listening to one, or the collection, you will identify with my
journey and enjoy the tunes" says Larry.

sounds are influenced as much by Wells’s observations as they are his diverse
influences—Hendrix, Cream, Zappa, James Brown, Miles, Coltrane, Charlie Parker,
the list goes on.

“The songs on Off The Cuff, as well as my new release I Wish It Would Snow,
were all written and performed with a passion for life. I’ve been blessed to
play with some of the best and I’m really pleased with how they have turned
out" shares Larry.

"Off The Cuff" also features a number of great players: Mike Longo (Dizzy
Gillespie’s music director of many years) and Marty Laskin play great solos on
Dizzy Heights. Allan Namery delivers a killer sax solo on “Paralysis Through
Analyisis” along with a blazing guitar from Wells himself. JB Lessen (guitar,
harmonica) Susan Diedrichsen (vocals) are heard on multiple tracks. The album
was co-produced by Jay Dittamo (drums, percussion, vibes and keyboard) and
recorded at The Cave Studio, Waldwick, NJ.
