John Fernandes, Quepem Shri Hemant Aya, bagged the first place for his essay “Contribution of Tribals in the development of Goa” in an essay competition organized by Christian Adivasi Sangatna Quepem, he will be awarded a cash prize of Rs.2000/-. Shri Devidas Gaonkar bagged the second place for his essay “ land and the Tribal” while Sneha Parab have bagged the third place for her essay “ Tribal Movements in Goa”. They will be awarded a cash prize of Rs.2000/- and Rs.1000/- respectively The prize distribution will be held on 26th December, 2012 at a function organized in Quepem Municipal Garden Square, Quepem at 4.30PM at the hands of Hon’ble Tribal Minster Shri Ramesh Tawadkar, in presence of other dignitaries. The Lok Utsav will be inaugurated at the hands of Social Worker Shri Jose Francisco Gomes . That around 18 cultural group are likely to participate in the in the event. The Lok Utsav will be followed by release of the Annual Sovenier at 4.30PM at the hands of Hon,ble Tribal and Sports and youth Affairs Minister Shri Ramesh Tawadkar in presence of Quepem MLA Shri Chandrakant Kavlekar, Sanguem MLA Shri Subhash Fal Dessai, Ex-MP, south Goa Shri Ramakant Angle, Curtorim MLA Alex Reginaldo Lourenco, Fatorda MLA Vijay Sardessai, QMC Chairperson Shri Dayesh Naik, QMC Vice Chairperson Mathew Camilo Simoes and Fatima Rocha Sarpanch V.P. Ambaulim. On the occasion two eminent personalities namely Jose Francisco Gomes of Curtorim for his outstanding contribution to the Society and Shri Pobre Fernandes of Quepem for his outstanding contribution to literature will be felicitated.
