We goans can talk a lot. We want this type of lokayuta and that type and make
big noise. But in reality we dgeare useless. Goans go shopping and buy all
sorts of things from fridge washing machine tv or Ac and many times these do
not work properly . They will go to the dealer and literally beg to get things
repaired. People go to shops and buy various things which does not even have
price tag on it. cloth shops or readymade garments sell their wares at price
they want. We have consumer's court.and we have state forum but hardly anyone
goes there. People are buying flats and shops but they do not get what they do
not get what they were promised. Some buildings do not have inch of land around
them and people are forced to park on roads. In Mapuca buildings have come
along the steep slope and people have bought it and are living in it for years
together without a society . Some buildings are half constructed and people are
contented. Do they ever approach the consumer's court to get theirdues ? no
never. In calangute people have bought flats as rent back but some builders
have not paid their rents for years. some builders have collected money towards
maintaince of the building . actually it is a deposit but here builders have
finished the money and some builders have dissappeared too.
