The undersigned was present for this meet of AAP at Menezes Braganza Hall,
Panjim.
He has also put \'two\' questions to Prashant Bushan on AAP future programme
for Elections 2014.
To our knowledge, Vijay Sardessai, Fatorda MLA, now Independent, former
Congressman vying for the Congress ticket, as GOEMKAR, is now opposed tp
MOPA in totality. It was the Congress which first came up with the idea of
MOPA when Vijay Sardessai was very much in the Congress Camp. We did not see
Vijay Sardessai raising the banner of revolt against MOPA then, as also when
Churchill, Matanhy & Co raised the banner of revolt against MOPA, Churchill
to lubricate his SGF of course.
According to us, Vijay Sardessai should not have asked the above question
w.r.t. PPP model for MOPA to Prashant Bushan of AAP. Instead he should have
ask the question like this:

What we are saying is: What difference does it make if MOPA is on PPP model
of XYZ model? We don\'t want it. Period. The Navy has to quit Dabolim and
hand Goa\'s Civilian Airport back to Goa\'s Civilian Authorit, whether it is
after 51 years or not.
Te writing is on the wall bold and clear. MOPA WILL GIVE DABOLIM AIRPORT TO
THE NAVY ON A SILVER PLATTER FOR NAVY\'S EXCLUSIVE USE. GOANS MUST NOT BE
BLIND TO THIS GLARING FACT.

PANJIM: The protest against the new Greenfield International airport at Mopa
is likely to see new wind, with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) now rising up to
oppose the project, which will be developed on Public Private Partnership
(PPP) model.
AAP co-founder Prashant Bhushan on Sunday told a gathering that the party is
always against privatization of the project and it will oppose the Mopa
airport, if it is proposed to be developed on PPP model.
"Party's stand is clear. We would definitely oppose it and will also study
all the aspects of the project," he said responding to a question raised by
Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardessai.
Sardessai pointed out that despite resistance from locals, the government is
going ahead with Mopa airport terming it as Greenfield.
/> "PPP is nothing but use of public resources to feed private parties,"
Bhushan said adding 'one cannot displace villagers from their land and make
them starve for a living, in the name of a project'.
Hundreds of villagers dependent on traditional farming in small holdings and
cashew orchards are protesting against the airport. Chief Minister Manohar
Parrikar during the recently concluded winter session of the State
Legislative Assembly had said that Mopa is must for the State along with the
existing Dabolim airport.
