In case of Italian Marines killing Kerala Fishermen, there appears involvement of three important issues: 1. Government representative of Italy in India (Italy Ambassador) gives written guarantee of the return of Italian convicts in Supreme Court of India but fails to comply - Insult to law of India which even India government cannot bypass; 2. Why were the convicts allowed to go back? They could have voted from their embassy in India. Why was this fact not brought to the notice of the SC by Government of India; 3. If India doesn't react at this with iron hand, it does not only show its impotency but also creates examples of 'I will slap, kill Indians and I run back my home...what can you do?' attitude towards our countrymen. It is very clear that Italy does not care Indian Government when they are now taking of 'Diplomatic solution.' While our external affairs minister Mr. Salman Khurshid says, 'We will study and take an informed position.'
What a drama! Everybody knows that once any convict returns to their home country that country's law applies to them! Secondly, India is perceived internationally as a TIME WASTER country!! In India, laws remain only on papers without any action!!! Considering opposition united stand which alleges Government of 'collusion in Marines case', anytime from now on, the moves of Indian Government will be something like this: Italian ambassador will be summoned by External Affairs Minister / Foreign Secretary and they will have one to one close door meeting for one hour or so and no one will be knowing what was discussed....After the meeting Minister/Secretary will issue a statement stating that Government has issued a warning letter to Italy to return 2 navy guards immediately...thereafter, ambassador will be asked to leave India (without even thinking whether Italian Ambassador could face contempt of court charges or not? Check TOI - Goa edition, Page 8, dated March 13, 2013.) After this, Indian Government will immediately accept the appointment of new Italian ambassador in India. It is all underhand dealing of the Indian government and that of madam Italy in India! Meanwhile, Congress will issue a statement stating 'UPA's Chairman Sonia is very unhappy with Government's move in handling the case... Kerala Cong MPs will celebrate it as their victory and issue a letter praising Sonia's leadership.......Drama will continue till 2014.....Then issue will be forgotten...and closed forever! Considering Quotrochhi's case; recent Helicopter dealing with Italy, and now not returning of two Italian convicts despite written assurance by Italian ambassador to India, it's time to rip the harvest! It's time to break all ties with Italy - will India headed by Dr. Manmohan take this step? And equally it's time for Indians to teach a lesson to Congress party through upcoming 2014 election - enough is enough... It's equally a right time Indians recollect what Abraham Lincoln said: 'you can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.'
