Just back from Anjuna.
After having drawn a blank on rave parties and loud music discos at Curlies,
UV Bar, Hippies etc on the assignment with the Police and the Pollution
Control Board the other day, today was another matter altogether.
Got a call that U V Bar was having a rave party starting from 14.00 hours
today and which would continue upto beyond 4.00 in the morning next. Got my
act together, asked the caller to wait for me at the Anjuna Church and went
about my business of acquiring the DB meter from my colleague in the HC
constituted committee hailing from Candolim and was at site (next door to U
V Bar) since 19.00 hours monitoring the DB levels which were fluctuating
from 90 to 105. Called DYSP Mapusa who promised to send the Anjuna PSI to do
the needful, immediately. When the PSI arrived with full complement, we went
into action at the UV Bar to attached all equipment which included the disc
players, mixer, amplifier, and two stacks of speakers of 2.5 meters high
each containing 5 mammoth boxes each. By the time Panchanama et al was done
and things carted away to the Anjuna PS with PI Karpe in charge, it was
already 10:30 p.m.
Thanks to DYSP Serafin Dias and PSI (Anjuna PS) Mahesh Kerkar, the people in
the vicinity of the U V Bar will sleep well tonight. If I was in the area, I
would have gone mad within 24 hours. I really pity the people in the
vicinity which includes owners of family guest houses which are vacant
because no one wants to stay there because of the din created 24 x 7 by
places like U V Bar et al.
I just wonder what sort of governance is it that allows guys like U V Bar,
Hippies, Curlies, Shiva Valley, Liliput et al to make business, illegally
too, and disturb the entire area upto half of Assagao, mercilessly.
Any one will laugh out loud if one goes to U V Bar which is famous for
hosting rave parties every day of the week. Just 10 x 10 meters or even
less open air dancing hall with rocking music in the mids of a cluster of
guest houses, residential houses on the one side and the open beach on the
other side. Those people should have gone mad a long long time ago. But can
they counter the Minister's influence, that too from far away Siolim? where
even the Dy CM has no say in the matter.
I only hope there are no people at my gate tomorrow with garlands to find
the suitable neck.
I have made it clear to those who were literally falling at the feet that
there is no doubt Goa is a music loving place. But music also has it's place
and the peace and privacy of the people has it's place too. One cannot go on
violating the rights of others because one has political influence and/or
because there is no governance at all to be seen in spite of all adjectives
exhausted to define the same. This is where the powers that be must step in
and save the day for Goa. The solution is SOUNDPROOFED DOUBLE DOOR SYSTEM
VENUES where people, especially the freaking tourists can dance and/or blow
their heads off to ear splitting music and also afford the neighborhood to
do business, relax, rewind, live and sleep in peace, without a worry in the
world.
GSRP GUARANTEES THAT THIS WILL BE ACHIEVED WITHIN LESS THAN 100 DAYS OF ITS
RULE IN GOA, NOT THE 100 DAYS TO BE COMPARED WITH THE BJP'S , MORE
SPECIFICALLY OF MANOHAR PARRIKAR VIS A VIS LOKAYUKTA.

PS: Today's report will find it's way to the HC of Bombay at Goa in the
Writ Petition 11 of 2013 which is the reason of these exercises. We only
hope that the HC issues strong directives to the Government of the day on
the DOUBLE DOOR SOUND PROOF VENUES THROUGHOUT THE LENGTH AND BREADTH OF GOA.
This will, of course, leave out the Temples which cannot be double-doored
sound-proofed with Horn Loud Speakers blaring at all ODD TIMES from the
turrets above. Thanks to God, in Moira & Nachinola they are SILENT.
