Without feeling hurt I would be happy if someone can answer some of these
questions I want to put to the Clergy of Goa. Why are most of the parish priest
very adamant, rude, and boastful ? Why do they consider the lay peopWhy le as
inferior commodity lacking in knowledge of God and that the priests have
complete knowledge of God, heaven and that they are the only ones that are holy
and without sin ? Why do parish priest say This is my church do what I tell you
to do? They use the pulpit to condemn the lay person ? even insult them left
and right and many of the priests call themselves religious ? Why do you call
your self Rev. Father ? Why do you call yourself Missionaries ? Why does the
church of Goa want only the lay people to support the edifice and structures of
the church while they will not contribute a penny ? Why does every statue of
saints is standing on a money box and where does that money go ? How does a
priest afford to make foreign trips costing lakhs of rupees when they stipend
is less than a daily wage workers and that too some priests make yearly trips ?
How does a priest afford to roam in expensive cars ? Why does the church not
give account of money collected by the church ? Since we do not have any forum
to redress our grievances I as a catholic feel hurt to voice this in this
column but these questions need to be answered if Jesus Christ is the head of
our church and he is the truth the way and the life
