It is surprising that the Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly Rajendra Arlekar has declined to consider a motion to condole the death of PSI Abhishek Gomes who was last month crushed to death on his line of duty. This brave heart dared to put his life at risk and this should have been publicly recognized.
In contrast the last session of the Goa Legislative Assembly was apparently taken for a ride to condole the death of Former RSS Chief K S Sudarshan? What was the need? How was Sudarshan relevant in context of Goa? What has been the special contribution made by him for the benefit of Goa and the Goans? Is there anything which can be attributed to Sudarshan, which can make Goans proud? The RSS ideology which the current government headed by Manohar Parrikar is unleashing should be thwarted as the Secular fabric of our State needs to be rescued at all costs. With utmost respect, the Goa Legislative Assembly should not be used as a platform to perform private obligations, if any.
