Three Comments: 

1: legitimate criticism is crucial to the functioning of a democracy.

2: there are proper avenues to deal with the sins of the critics and others. 
These avenues are called the courts.

3: the alleged sins of the critics do not prevent them from criticising the 
government - unless oranges are the same as apples.

BTW: the story from the Bible (as related above) is NOT accurately quoted.
