This organization is not a traditional art dealer as such. They work on consignment. The higher the sale price the larger their commission.

And this is a rather recently launched endeavor. Their first date on their twitter feed is February 2013.

The code is WordPress running the Tiac Theme. Not really a massive investment.

This is really an online shop and should not be confused with a non-profit Centre or publicly funded Gallery...

Lets call a spade an spade. Buyer beware.

Don't be 'mesmerized' and be ripped off. If you are investing in art...do your home work. This is especially when purchasing objects made of so called antique ivory. Original ownership papers are required for a proper transaction.

The UK is a signatory of the international endangered species treaty. Buying or selling of objects less that 150 years old is likely illegal. It also may also be almost impossible to move the the items across international borders as part of an estate or inheritance.

My opinion. Donate your Indian antiques to an accredited museum. This will benefit the greater public. A museum is a safe home and they will provide a tax receipt.

Old is not necessarily valuable. Invest in the future by supporting contemporary and living artists.

>>...we have a vast collection of Hindu items here at the Indian Art Centre. If you’re Hindu, these can help you worship your Gods. Owning such a piece can really demonstrate your devotion to your deities, and inspire your friends and family to show the same level of respect in your home.<<
