Chinchinim.He has joined the Capuchin Frairs, St Anthony`s Province Goa The last Ordination of a priest at Sirlim was 15 years back A priest is a blessing and pride of the family. Never heard of the parents of the priest being destitute s, and abandoned. Chinchinim, then, also constituting of villages of Sirlim , Dramapur besides Sarzora was known as the granary of priests. Vocations are dwindling, perhaps with 2 norm children.Parents are the foremost agents of sowing the seed for the vocation. They need to encourage and be supportive, in stead of creating impediments The Church must also nurture the ambition along with immediate family, relatives and neighbours There is urgent need to replenish and replace the dwindling number of vocations to meet our needs of catholic traditions and faith We often hear in glowing terms of achievements of children in the field of Engineering, Medicine, etc, but the vocation of a priest, normally does not receive such accolades Neslon Lopes Chinchinim
