Dear Goans and Lovers of Goa,
Time has come for us to assert ourselves in order to stay GOAN and/or to keep Goa's Goan'ness. We need to look at just TWO issues (1) No to MOPA (2) Navy Get Out W.r.t. the demand for Special Status for Goa, Goa did not require or does not require Special Status under Article 371 of the Constitution of India [which India never wanted to give Goa for reasons that India wants GOAN-NESS to be diluted knowing very well that GOANS do not have the stomach for a fight], to keep Goa's Identity and it's Culture and Ethos protected and safe. Goa's successive governments could have put in proper legislations in place and administered Goa in the manner that we wanted to administer Goa. And weren't Goans administering Goa during the erstwhile Portuguese rule? But alas ! We have administered GOA the way India wanted and wants. And now we Goans find that we are on the brink of being pushed out of our own Goa. The above TWO issues are crucial for the survival of GOA and Goanness. If MOPA does come, it will not only be the end of DABOLIM AIRPORT [which will go to the Navy as has been plotted all along] but it will be the back-door merger of Goa into Maharashtra, what GOA's enemies wanted to attain but could not in 1967. We Goans need to send a SILENT MESSAGE to the POWERS THAT BE. And this can be done by wearing the T-Shirts as shown in the attachment. No body knows what is in one's MIND. But displaying the same boldly makes all the difference and also increases the awareness AND to identify who is for Goa and who is against. Besides, leaders who preach must also practice so that the flock follows suit. I, for one, have vowed to wear one on every-day basis. Will you not join me in this effort to SAVE OUR GOA for once ?? Please do remember. This is not a question of being Patriotic or not being Patriotic. This is a question of the SURVIVAL OF GOA and GOANS, like never before.
