RESPONSE: 1: Stop speculating and worrying. The rules for obtaining UK citizenship are clearly listed online. 2: It could be said that, at this moment, the playing field is tilted against non-EU spouses of UK citizens. 3: The UK may change it's laws and may even consider leaving the EU. However, in the UK, laws are not applicable retrospectively. 4: If Goans wish to make better use of the Portuguese nationality which they are entitled to, they should consider the following points: a: Your best bet is IF you are reclaiming your Portuguese nationality for personal emotional reasons, and do NOT need to do so for opportunistic reasons. b: You qualify yourself well to compete on the open market - and resolve to work hard and honestly. c: Take advantage of the Portuguese language courses offered in Goa. The former Portuguese African countries and Brazil are bursting with opportunities. d: Learn to communicate adequately and politely also in English, and be always prepared to upgrade one's skills. e: Aim for the best positions in the world because you can do it - IF you are willing to work diligently towards the top. jc
