Well, I booked for my two films shoot for June and August 2013. For 3 days, charges are Rs. 5,50,000 (including 1 lac as security deposit). Fees paid and got the required permissions or NOCs from ESG (under single window system). I also understand that they give about 30% of their takings to respective Panchayat or municipality under whose jurisdiction the film shoot takes place. Shooting started.. There come CCP Mayor, ‘I am the City father here’ Our charges are Rs.3,00,000 for 3 days. We need money for maintaining and construction of city roads etc Few hours later, there comes a Councillor in whose ward the shooting is going on. Shooting happening within my ward, we have a residents association, a donation is expected from you. Money so received will be used for upkeep of the area or buildings, a receipt will also be issued. Next on the list, is a representative of the City MLA. As the shooting happening into his constituency, he too expects donations in the name of Chief Ministers Relief fund. 2nd day, a group of young youth come for Donations What’s your donation for? ‘We have a small Holly Cross in the vicinity, we have our own Holy Cross Association too, anything you donate will be added to the funds which will be used to provide a shade or build a chapel.. Will you give receipt for the donation received? Well, in God we all should trust, however, if you insist, receipt is not a problem, such pre-printed books available at book stalls. Then come the youth of another religious community seeking donation for their ‘gomti’ in the area and on the same grounds as above. Well, to cut short, the entire 3 days shoot eventually cost me over 12 lacs One of the benefactors said ‘Nice doing business with you Sir, see you soon again in August’ August? You must be joking.
