Respected sir, Kindly publish following news item and oblige....Bhakti GCL Goodwill Ambassador and Woman Grandmaster Bhakti Kulkarni went down fighting to Former World Woman Champion Hou Yifan (2595) of China in the second round of Asian Indoor Games being held at Incheon,South Korea. Due to the suspension of Indian Olympic Association, the Indian Teams of Chess,Kabaddi and Swimming are playing as Independant Olympic Athletes. Bhakti is on 2 points at the end of third round. Bhakti started her campaign with a smooth win over WCM Emi Hasegawa of Japan in the first round. The Goan used sharp Benko Gambit to defeat the Woman Candidate Master from Japan. Then Bhakti was thrilled when she heard that she was to play against Hou Yifan. "It is dream come true for me",gushed Bhakti. Hou regularly defeated Humpy-the only Indian woman she had played so far. Bhakti prepared well and almost pulled off a draw against the super GM. It was Nimzo Indian Defence in which Bhakti had White pieces. "I could feel the pressure when I was playing Hou Yifan. But I fought well to maintain it equal only to lose a pawn in time trouble," remembered Bhakti. Thereafter Hou won the game on 48th move. Bhakti defeated International Woman Master Alzarooni of UAE to reach 2 points at the end of third round. -- *Commonwealth Junior Girls Chess Champion,* *Goodwill Ambassador for GCL, * *International Woman Grand Master,* *Goa,India.*
