Because the Navy has plans to digest this natural equidistant centrally located airport of GOA for it's defence purposes and instead want the Civilian Airport shifted to MOPA on the Northernmost tip on Goa-Maharashtra border, a place which is the Western Ghats ecologycal bio-diversity hot-spot and likely to be devastated if developed as an International Airport. >> 4.
