Dears, It was an honour for MOIRA that GOA's Chief Minister cum Education Minister has taken time off from his very very busy schedule to inaugurate yours faithfully's alma mater's [St. Xavier's HS] spanking newly renovated by ACRON's Brittos, the pre-primary school section, the Britto's house [not related to ACRON'S Brittos] amid power black-out, yesterday the 12th. July, 2013.
Sensing that the dignity of Goa's Chief Minister would be lowered if the roadsides of the road leading to the High School from the main Aldona-Mapusa trunk road remained overgrown with branbles, GSRP undertook the exercise of clearing the roadsides leading to the school two days before the inauguration date. However, the branbles next to the road sign-board announcing the name of the school were left intact on purpose to see if these were cleared by the school management. Sad to note that they were not, and as seen in the pictures, this takes away the value of all the work done on the renovation. It must be noted that GSRP has also installed a garbage bin along the school approach roadside where the village garbage used to pile up making a mess of this area to reflect on the non application of mind by the school management and/or the PANCHAYAT, thereby giving 'zero' clean environmental education to the students. This animal proof wire-mesh bin [ with a lable as in photo] is being cleared by GSRP on almost daily basis and the garbage treated, through segregation, washing of clean the plastics and composting of the organic matter, which includes sanitary pads and baby pampers and all types of dry waste in abundance [photo]. And why would GSRP do all these things for free?? Because, it wants to send the right signal to the people of Goa that " POLITICS must clean GOA and not DIRTY IT".
